Maze Runner Review
Thomas is deposited into an indolent land with a community of boys who utilize their survival skills. All of their memories have been erased and the only thing that they have is possibly their name, which they don’t even remember until two or three days after their deposit, and their assignment which is given to them by their leader, Alby. Being trapped in the land surrounded by a maze has forced them to join forces and become a family. There is no way out, so they think. The maze has clouded their judgement and patronizes them at night. In the early morning the maze opens its growling doors and allows the “runners” to enter in. They can’t stay in the maze forever because if they do they will get trapped inside because at sundown the doors close. Thomas is the only one certain that the only way to get out of the desolate land is through the maze.
Alby (Aml Ameen) is flattered at Thomas’s display of courage and persistence. His rough encounter with Gally (Will Poulter) proved that he is one of them and that he could handle any tough situation thrown his way. The fighting scene with Gally and Thomas was also important. At this point of the movie Thomas was being called a newbie. He was treated like a newborn babe, but after being knocked to the ground by Gally he remembered his name, Thomas. His remembrance of his name was also faster than anyone already in the community. Alby saw that Thomas was special and the next scene was where he carved his name into the maze wall. At the maze wall Thomas noticed a few things. He noticed names that he didn’t recognize and also those names were also crossed out. He inquired about the crossed off names and Alby warned him again of the maze and how some people think they have courage but don’t come back once the maze gets through with them.
Thomas’ curiosity about the maze amazed everyone. He was warned about the maze and most people would accept it and move on. Not Thomas. Thomas was different. There were multiple times where he showed his courage and tenacity. To be honest guys, you need to see this movie. I’m just giving you a review, not a fucking summary lol.
From the beginning of the movie it had a fast pace. It was very action-packed. If you went to the bathroom while the movie had started you would miss a lot. In contrast to the fast pace, the movie had a dark ambience. Dark ambiences conveys multiple messages. One message it conveyed to me was that somebody is going to get hurt or die. The second is that the director doesn’t know what the fuck he or she is doing and they didn’t read the book. To me it’s considered a spoiler. I will blame the director Wes Ball. This is his second movie and again his beginner level in the Hollywood industry is foretold. It kind of reminded me of 47 Ronin, except this movie had a moving plot with bad acting. Again guys go see the movie. It left me with a sense of all Hollywood actors are dumb blondes with a dunce hat on their heads. Directors are just a replay of Dumb and Dumber. Overall, I would give this movie a 5 out of 10 stars.
Oh and Wes Ball, you chose actors based on their looks. Congratulations!!!! But can I see some real acting please?!?
